Community Outreach
We believe that it is important to help others in need, especially vulnerable children within the community. There are many children who live without basic items that people often take for granted. It is amazing how showing a bit of compassion makes lives better & opens doors to sharing Christ’s love with others. Below you will find the outreaches that are close to Loving Honduran Kids heart:
1. Clothes & Shoes Outreach- Thanks to very generous donations, we are able to distribute both used & new clothes & shoes to children who are in need. It is not uncommon to find the children here wearing clothes & shoes that are too small because their families cannot afford to buy bigger clothes.
2. Health, Hygiene, Food, &Basic Items Outreach- Our ministry is blessed to be able to give out essential items such as staple foods like rice, beans, eggs, milk & flour as well as toiletries to those who are less fortunate. Whenever possible, we add chicken, meat, dairy products, & other special foods. We also aid with medical and dental attention if needed.
3. School Supply Outreach- We also collect & distribute school supplies such as backpacks, notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers, glue, crayons, markers, etc. to children whose families cannot afford to buy their children these mandatory school items.
4. Christmas Present Outreach- The most important part of Christmas is celebrating the birth of Jesus, which we traditionally celebrate through giving gifts to those we love. However, most children in Honduras do not receive anything for Christmas. One of the most special times of the year is when we can share the true reason for Christmas by bringing His word & a token of His love to the children. Through generous donations, we are able to have several Christmas parties with various groups of children where we share His word, enjoy a meal together, and each child receives a beautiful gift. There is nothing like watching a child receive & open their brand new gift.
