A future Children's Home

*We hope to have a home for children within the next few years*

We strongly believe that is important for all children to have a safe & nurturing home where they will grow up with Jesus in their heart. In Honduras, there are many children who unfortunately cannot live with their families for various reasons. It is our desire, in the future, to raise children in a loving home where their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs will be met. We will work together to equip them for their futures. It is important that the children will be part of a family where they will be always wanted, cared about, & welcomed. We hope to open our doors for children in the future where they will be a part of our forever family.

Community Outreach

School supplies, uniforms, clothes, shoes, food, and health & hygiene needs are provided to children & their families within the community who do not have adequate access to these basic items. We believe that all children deserve to have life’s basic needs met. Due to economic struggles, many families cannot provide these necessities for their children.

School Supplies & Uniforms

An overwhelming number of children in Honduras come from homes where their families simply cannot afford to help them in their education. Education is very important and yet, due to economic issues, many children are not prepared for school. Many do not finish elementary school, let alone high school.  Each year, students are required to purchase a long list of school supplies, which most families cannot provide. Additionally, all students must wear a uniform for daily use as well as a physical education uniform.

Loving Honduran Kids works with children within the community who need assistance with school supplies, uniforms & shoes.

In addition, our ministry helps local schools with school supplies and other materials that enhance the learning & education experience for the children in our community.

Clothes, Shoes & Food

There are many children who do not have proper clothes & shoes. Often clothes and shoes do not fit & they are forced to wear what they have. We believe that every child should be well clothed & have shoes that they can comfortably wear.

Additionally, here there are always children & their families who do not have enough food. Children are dependent on the adults in their lives to provide for their basic needs. But due to economic difficulties, many children lack enough food. Imagine going to bed hungry or not being able to bring a snack to school because there is nothing in the house. Being hungry and malnourished also greatly affects their learning & physical growth.

Also, many babies need formula, diapers, & other baby items that their families cannot provide.

Health & Hygiene

We believe that it is important the children adopt proper health & hygiene routines from the time they are young. Giving children access to toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo & other items allows them to be fresh & clean.

In addition, we aid children & adults who need medicines as well as medical &dental attention.

We also help those in our community who need access to proper sanitary conditions (i.e.-water, toilets, sinks to wash).

THE Ministry House

Our Ministry House is a very important & influential part of our ministry as it serves many purposes such as:

1) It is a home for single women who grew up in a children’s home since the time they were little. The Ministry House provides a healthy space where they are able to learn life skills, continue their education (if they choose to), & are encouraged to walk in God’s ways. They know that they are not alone & we walk with them through their good days & their challenging days. It is a place where they are loved, prayed for, & welcomed as family. These ladies have such big hearts to serve & they selflessly volunteer their time in our community outreaches.

2) It is a safe place where people can gather to receive a hearty meal every day, seek advice, or receive prayer is desired.

3) It serves as the in-country headquarters for our ministry in Honduras (where we collect, bag, & distribute all donations).

english classes

Jamie voluntarily taught English classes for seven years in the local public nursery & elementary schools where she developed a deeper understanding of the educational system as well as the children’s backgrounds. She also volunteers teaching English to adults who are eager to learn & speak English.

Education/extracurricular activities

We strive to help our local public schools whenever there is a need as there is limited funding & resources. In addition, we love to support extracurricular activities as they help kids focus, teaches teamwork, builds confidence, & keeps them off the streets. Currently, we partner with a local Christian Soccer Program & two local school bands.
