Usually the first question people ask Jamie is, "How did you get involved with Honduras?"

Over 15 years ago, Jamie's mom went on a missions trip and when she returned, she couldn't stop talking about it. Jamie really wanted to go, but she was still in high school & she wasn't able to go due to time constraints. To her disappointment, Jamie had to wait a few years.

Finally, when Jamie was in college, her wishes came true.  She had never been in Central America let alone in a third world country. At that point, little did Jamie know that as soon as she stepped off the plane, her life would be forever changed.

Fast forward about six years. Jamie was 25 years old & was blessed with a great job as a tenured NYC teacher & she also traveled extensively. However, in her heart Jamie knew that there was something more out there, but she did not know what.
Jamie prayed to God that if He wanted things to change in her life, He would have to do something major in order for her to move in a different direction. Well, God definitely heard her prayer!

Two days after school ended, Jamie was on the plane to Honduras & has been serving in Valle de Angeles ever since.
